in Morrison, Colorado is a must-see, especially for the lover of live
music. The only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre
in the world should be part of any cultural enthusiast's bucket list.
Though not officially one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, it
continues to be a place of wonderment in our minds as music groups dream
of one day playing on the magnificent stage.

See your favorite
band in an amphitheatre etched into the mountainside over-looking
Denver's distant cityscape. Every seat is guaranteed a view which will
not disappoint. Red Rocks is not just an amazing place to see a concert,
it is a place which creates a feeling you never knew you had. The
magic lies in the rocks and if these walls could talk, oh the stories
they would tell.

The History of Red Rocks

Red
Rocks Amphitheatre is 6,450 feet above sea level and consists of mixed
plants and animals from both the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains.
These two regions came together to create the wonderful diversity you
see today.

Believe it or not the famous red sandstone rocks were
once the bottom of the ocean floor 250 million years ago which slowly
rose up creating the walls seen today. The Amphitheatre is made of Ship
Rock and Creation Rock, 200-300 foot monoliths, which make up the walls and produce the appealing sounds heard by thousands of spectators. John Brisben Walker (purchaser of Cosmopolitan Magazine in

people do not know Red Rocks is open year round, so come be a part of
the magic any time of the year. If there's no act scheduled, you can
still visit the Red Rocks Performer's Hall of Fame, Interactive Hallway
and the Geological and History Exhibits. Tours are available Monday through Sunday starting at 10 am.

Red Rocks is equally popular for the outdoorsy crowd. Enjoy beautiful scenery on a variety of hiking and biking trails and beautiful picnic spots. There is also an onsite restaurant called Ship Rock Grille. winners with camel riding and indoor scuba diving available for all.

Highlights included:

Costa Rica-
Costa is continuing to promote sustainable eco-tourism with
conservation efforts that ensure modern developments do not erase the
rich historical culture. Make sure to take a tour of the java houses as
coffee is their #1 export.

Tobago- The oldest legally protected

covers 500.000 kms² across five countries - Belize, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras and the southeastern states of Mexico. There are
over 100 archaeological sites, scattered amongst valleys, volcanoes,
jungles & reefs, which have been saved and restored.

India-
While the Taj Mahal is often India's crowning attraction, other
must-see places include the Holy River Ganges- one of the most sacred
places in India, Varanasi, where rituals of life and death are performed
and the thousand year old Hindu temples at Khajuraho, which has been
named a UNESCO world heritage site.

Dominican Republic- If you think Carnival is only big in Brazil, think again. One of Punta Cana's biggest events, celebrate the annual parade in March with more than 1,000 characters from 15 of the island's providences.

Argentina-

Thinking of taking a last minute Valentine's Day trip? Whether you're
of the adventurous kind or of the relaxing spirit, spending some
quality one-on-one time with your loved ones is important to sustaining
any relationship so get your sexy on...or back. Let romance ring at some
of great couple spots, aside from the obviously overdone Paris.

Verona, Italy- The setting of Romeo and Juliet's balcony, a stream of tourists flocks to Verona every
year to visit the famous courtyard at Casa Giulietta on Via Cappello in
the Old Town. Located in the Veneto region in Northern Italy, Verona is
only half an hour's drive from Lake Garda, one of the country's most
beautiful lakes. It is also surrounded to the north and east, by the
hilly landscapes of the famous Valpolicella and Soave wine districts.
The city's old castle, Castelvecchio, is a famous attraction in its own
right too, built by the powerful della Scala family in the Middle Ages
and restored in the 20th century by world-famous architect Carlo Scarpa.

Belize- Riddled with romantic rainforests and canopies, exotic, English-speaking Belize is
an adventurer's paradise, just a couple of hours away from three major
United States cities. Almost half the country has been preserved as
nature parks and reserves, including tropical forests teeming with
wildlife and hiding mysterious Mayan ruins, and 174 miles (280km) of
coastline featuring the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere,
which makes for an exciting Valentine's Day expedition.

Tahiti - A popular honeymoon spot, Tahiti's best
white sand beaches are between Punaauia and Papara, but most visitors
get more of a thrill out of visiting the famed black sand beaches on the
east coast, particularly renowned Pointe Venus. Besides enjoying the
seaside, Tahiti also
offers some interesting sightseeing, including magnificent Botanical
gardens, museums, archaeological sites, the tomb of the royal family
Pomare, a lake containing unique eared eels, lava tubes, and a host of
other unusual sea creatures.

Seychelles- This often overlooked group of 115 islands lies right in the middle of the Indian Ocean, 932 miles off the coast of Africa. The Seychelles archipelago
nurtures unique species of flora and fauna including the giant
tortoises of Aldabra atoll, 11 unique species of birds and 200 species
of fish and aquatic life. Ashore there are amazing granite structures
mostly protected in nature reserves. Not surprisingly some people refer
to this pristine sanctuary as the "Garden of Eden."

Phuket- Commonly referred to as the 'Pearl of South' and the largest island in Thailand, Phuket is
also a truly tropical wonderland for honeymooners or Valentine's Day
couples. Diving, golf, sailing and sun tanning are just some of the
plentiful activities to enjoy. You could also take a couples cooking
class or indulge in one of Thailand's world-class spa treatments. Aaaah
serenity.

sending letters to the North Pole to ask Santa to fulfill their deepest
desires. But what about the South Pole? Did you know Antarctica
is the only continent which has no species of indigenous ants? Weighing
in at twice the size of Australia, most people do not know much about
the isolated land of ice. Antarctica is also one of the windiest places
on Earth, so prepare to be blown away by these crazy cool facts.

Sooo.. Do People Actually LIVE there?

Because of Antarctica's extreme weather conditions, there are no permanent residents
or even an indigenous government. However, scientists and other
research experts sometimes stick around for up to a few years at
different research stations. The stations provide all of their supplies.

World's Coldest Desert

As you know, a desert
is a region which receives extremely low precipitation (less than 16
inches annually) and because of this, most plants and living things
cannot survive. Antarctica only receives about 2 inches of
precipitation each year which classifies it as the coldest desert on
Earth. Blizzards are frequent because of strong winds which pick up the
snow which has already fallen and move it around. Antarctica doubles in
size each year because of the sea ice which forms around the coast
making the coastline itself not the actual defined boundary.

How Cold is Cold?

The coldest recorded temperature on Earth was recorded at -128.6 degrees Fahrenheit July 21st 1983. The temperature was recorded at the most isolated part of the continent and the furthest from any coast.

Animals

Despite Antarctica's extreme conditions, an abundance of wildlife
is able to call the icy landmass their home. The animal population
comprises mostly of little critters such as ticks and mites. The most
famous animal found on the coasts is the penguin. There are no land
based animals in all of Antarctica, so all animal species have to rely
on the ocean in some way to survive. Crabeater seals thrive in
Antarctica and actually have the second largest mammal population next
to humans. Krill are found in mass quantities and their population
outnumbers humans. Most animals have anti-freeze in their bodies to
survive the low temperatures.

Take a Trip

Despite
the ridiculous cold of Antarctica anyone is able to book a trip to the
isolated continent. How would like to say you hiked through old
glaciers, polar plunges into volcanically heated waters and walk among
arctic wild life? A cruise to Antarctica is not your average week away
from the office. Try the 11-day Antarctic Explorer, Antarctica's Ross Sea, discover the peninsula, or even take a mini expedition.

By Molly Nelson, Contributing Author

All Aboard!
Traveling by train is mildly outdated and under-appreciated in North America, but it's one of the most commonly used forms of transportation in Europe,
and other parts of the world. Not only is it convenient and
environmentally friendly, but there's something very charming and
old-fashioned about riding along those tracks. If there's one thing for
sure, traveling by train is
definitely the most scenic form of transportation. Here are some routes
that will have you canceling your airline reservations in no time!

Bernina Express

This train runs from Davos, Switzerland to Tirano, Italy
at a blistering speed of 20 mph. The Bernina Express may be one of the
slowest trains, but you won't be complaining as it runs through the Southern Alps,
over 196 bridges and 55 tunnels! The staggering views from this
zigzagged track are among the best in the world, so impressive that it
has become a Unesco World Heritage Site. The Bernina Express is
definitely one of the best places to travel by train. Forget the drama
at the airport, and hop aboard this 4-hour train to Italy.

Hail to the Chief: Southwest Chief

This 2,256-mile trip runs halfway across the US from Los Angeles, California to Chicago, Illinois
via Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. At around $300 a
train ticket, the Hail to the Chief: Southwest Chief route is clearly
not a bargain, considering the 43 hours of travel time, but this scenic
route through middle America takes you into the lonely beauty of the
Mojave Desert, through red-rock canyons, National Parks and Monuments,
and passes through the backyards of quaint, little towns. A journey for
those who want to experience every corner of the globe, forget the
mantra, "Time is of the essence" for a second to take in true Americana.
However, I would highly recommend a book, or two.

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

This train runs from Siliguri to Darjeeling, India and is nicknamed the "Toy Train." In another lifetime, this old steam train used to haul expats escaping the summer heat to Darjeeling for the summer. This route takes you alongside tea gardens and teak forests with breathtaking views of the Himalayas
and the world's third highest peak of Kanchenjunga. This, too, is now a
Unesco World Heritage Site. This restored steam train really is the
little engine that could!

Whether you're traveling in Europe, North America or South-East Asia,
always consider alternative forms of transportation, like trains. A lot
of the time they'll be cheaper and all of the time they'll be more fun.
Remember, traveling by train is an experience in itself!

By Julie Bass, Contributing Author

covers an approximate area of 2.5 million km². An important route for
merchants of ancient times, the Mediterranean region allowed for trade
and cultural exchange between emergent people. Today, the area is full
of gems for the discerning traveler.

Aeolian Islands, Italy

One of our favorite places of the Mediterranean for their exceptional beauty, the archipelago, not far from Sicily,
consists of eight islands of volcanic origin, with incredible and
unique views that have the power to astonish even the most skeptical
traveler. A beach with azure waters, the mountainous islands are also
home to ancient historical towns with narrow streets,
Mediterranean-style homes and fine restaurants. If you are a lover of
beach holidays, you should visit the Aeolian Islands at least once.

Tarifa, Spain

Tarifa
is the Spanish city from which you can easily see Africa located only
13 km away, and one of the most fantastic places on the Mediterranean
coast. With the wind constantly blowing (due to its location and meeting
of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean), the city has become a
mecca for windsurfing and kitesurfing addicts. However, Tarifa is
equally gratifying for lovers of the sea with a beautiful old town and
beaches of white and green sand.

Cassis, France

For those who love the French style of holiday, Cassis is a place that will not disappoint. Located near Marseille
in the south, the town of Cassis is famous for its spectacular cliffs,
many coves with hidden beaches and wine. Apparently, the city was the
first of three French vineyards to benefit from the designation of
origin (label of origin) introduced in 1930. Today, the famous white
wine from Cassis is the symbol of this fascinating region.

Malta

Lonely Planet Malta
is called "a microcosm of the Mediterranean." In fact, they're right.
Malta is a mix of Europe and North Africa with Arabic influences, which
make it a place so different, fascinating and unique. Particularly
rewarding for history buffs, admire the beautiful architecture from the
Norman, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods, while also enjoying
ancient buildings dating back to 6,000 years ago, with several museums
from archeology to modern history.

Hydra, Greece

The
first reason to love Hydra is that cars and motorcycles are not allowed
by law on the island. Hydra is truly a special place among the islands
of the country, making you feel the spirit of traditional Greece with a coast full of small ports, clear waters and a number of excellent restaurants.

Tetouan, Morocco

One of the most beautiful and exotic lands surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea is Tetouan in Morocco.
In comparison to the European counterparts, the coast of Morocco
remains untouched and virgin. Tetouan, which means "eyes" in the Berber
language, is one of the two main ports of Morocco, and also a beautiful
city, with the old section being of world heritage designation, full of
traditional charm and quaint buildings.

Obviously
there are many more, Palmarola, Ponza, Ischia, Taormina, many islands
of Greece, Egypt, but this would only be a brief introduction to the
many beauties of our Mediterranean sea to serve as inspiration for a
priceless trip.

Guest blog provided by tripandtravelblog.com.

There's four star cuisine
and then there's uniquely memorable dining experiences. This is the
latter. From strange service to crazy locations, monkeys delivering your
meal to meals being prepared by robots, one thing's for sure, at these
odd spots, you will definitely not run out of things to talk about. Just
be sure to pass the vino!

Meals Cooked by Robots- Japan

It's
no surprise that the majority of odd eateries are in Asia. FA-men is a
ramen restaurant in Nagoya, Japan in which two robots, a chef and a sous
chef prepare you soup and chit chat while cooking. Strange? Watch the video.

Meals Prepared by Dwarves- Philippines

Called the Hobbit House
(not sure if that's PC), Peace Corps volunteer and college professor
Jim Turner was so inspired by Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books that he
founded a bar entirely staffed by "little people." Inside its candle lit
interiors, one can recognize the paintings of scenes from the trilogy as well as posters of local folk legend, Freddie Aguilar. It made our list of top 10 dining experiences in the world.

Dining Table Suspended in the Sky- Worldwide

If
you ever wanted to defy gravity, now's your chance. Host the most
unusual dinner party possibly ever by inviting 22 of your closest friends to be
suspended in the air 50 meters high. Stationed on a moveable platform, this table can essentially be located anywhere in the world you have access to giving you plenty of options for crazy backdrops. Just don't look down.

Meals are Cooked Using Volcanic Heat- Spain

A major attraction on Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands is
Parque Nacional de Timanfaya and Montañas del Fuego (Fire Mountains),
which is marked by a sign depicting the devil. As part of your tour, stop at El
Diablo Restaurant to enjoy its barbeque that uses geothermal heat and a
cast iron grill placed over a hole in the ground - an idea crafted by famous Spanish chef César
Manrique. Staff members give impressive demonstrations which show
the intense heat of the earth just below the surface, just watch out for
flames.

Communicate with other Patrons via Telephones- France

France is known as the city of love and a little café in Montpellier is trying to ignite the sparks a little faster. At Restophone,
each table is outfitted with a telephone to communicate with other
tables, to spark up conversations or to ask someone to dance. Great for
groups, but even better for singles. Maybe you want to talk about your
weird restaurant experiences?

BBQ chickens set on fire, catapulted through the air, and caught by a waiter riding unicycle- Thailand

Can
you say random? This is one of those only in Bangkok weird dining
experiences. Ka-tron was established in 1986 originally across the
Department of Meteorology, with the name literally meaning "rebound."
And if flying food is not enough entertainment while you dine, there's karaoke
too.

        According to Travel and Leisure,
the Top 10 Travel Destinations of 2012 are as diverse a group as you
can get. From the ultra lux Abu Dhabi to off the beaten path
Xishuangbanna, China to down home rural Arkansas, it's an interesting
list of contrasts for the discerning traveler. Here are their picks and
our take on these up and comers, refreshed cities or newly recognized
hotspots.

Sri Lanka- Agreed. Often touted as India's stepchild, Sri Lanka
is beginning to come into its own limelight with eight UNESCO World
Heritage Sites, 1,330 kilometers of coastline, 15 national parks
showcasing an abundance of wildlife, nearly 500,000 acres of lush tea
estates, 250 acres of botanical gardens, 350 waterfalls, 25,000 water
bodies, and a culture that dates back over 2,500 years. They had a
record breaking year in 2011 for tourism welcoming over 800,000 visitors
with the majority from India, Japan, Germany, U.K, France, Netherlands,
Italy, and Middle East. 2012 doesn't show any signs of slowing down as
more and more Western countries begin to uncover it's wonders.

Toronto- Definitely agreed. Touted as the NYC of Canada, Toronto
has been climbing its way up many's list of favorite cities. 2010 was a
record year for tourism in Toronto as the number of hotel room nights
sold reached over 8.93 million. Toronto moved up to sixth place in hotel
occupancy among top North American cities from 10th a year ago. In
terms of attractions, Canada's National Tower (CN Tower) opened a new extreme, EdgeWalk,
which is the first of its kind in North America, the world's highest
full circle hands-free walk on one of the world's greatest man-made
wonders. In addition 2011-2012 will bring a number of new upscale hotels
to Toronto including the Trump International Toronto Tower, Shangri-La
and Four Seasons.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines- Agreed, but SVG
isn't as exclusive or elitist as they portray it to be. Remote yes, but
accessible. Its casual, unpretentiously friendly people and deep wealth
of natural attractions make this collection of 32 islands and cays a
life-renewing experience. From the imposing La Soufriere volcano at
4,048 ft. to the oldest botanical gardens in the Western Hemisphere, SVG
is as much a nature lover's paradise as a sailing and diving gem.

Guimarães,
Portugal- Mmm no way, too random. Portugal is really known for its
gorgeous beaches, and I'm not sure this landlocked area makes the cut.
Instead, our pick is Italy's Amalfi Coast,
which has recently been getting star power with the likes of Kim
Kardashian's short-lived honeymoon and famously as one of Elizabeth
Taylor's favorite vacation spots. Often overshadowed by Rome, Venice,
Florence and Tuscany, the rugged southern shore dividing the Bay of
Naples from the Gulf of Salerno is a restful and picturesque area full
of miniature towns, caves, castles and crashing cliffs.

Abu Dhabi- Agreed, but mainly for the recent pop culture love they've been getting from Sex and the City 2 making every fashionista wants to hit the UAE. Headquarters of the world's richest oil companies, Abu Dhabi is capitalizing on its modern sophistication, amazing duty-free shopping, luxury hotels and world class infrastructure.

Costa Navarino, Greece- Meh, there are more interesting on the radar spots in Europe than struggling Greece, like the Dalmatian coast.
With over 1,000 miles of emerald-blue waters, secluded pebble beaches
and countless unspoiled islands, Croatia is one of the most romantic
honeymoon spots in the world with impressive medieval castles, national
parks and charming local villages.

Xishuangbanna, China-
Possibly, but still pretty remote. We're not sure Westerners are brave
enough to venture off the beaten path in red-shirted China. Combining
influences of neighboring Burma, and Laos, and Vietnam, Xishuangbanna is
a cultural melting pot, but if you're worried about safety or
obscurity, hit up Taipei first. Taiwan is brimming with amazing food, adventure and shopping.

Southern Bahia, Brazil- Bahia may be a beautiful beach town, but it's still not that mainstream yet. Due to Rio's
massive infrastructure overhaul for their 2016 Olympic bid, we say get
there first and check out the new digs- and what's being retired. Vila
Autódromo, a favela situated in the heart of Barra's Olympic Park will
be removed by 2013 to allow for further Olympic construction. See the
legendary city before it's completely modernized.

Hamburg, Germany- Agreed, but we'd broaden this to Germany
in general. The land of fairy tales, Germany where farmland minstrels
headed to Bremen to become musicians, where Sleeping Beauty was woken
and Little Red Riding Hood ventured into the woods. Discover the country
that gave us Beethoven and Bauhaus, Goethe and Glühwein, Lager and
Lederhosen.

Panama- Agreed, Panama is certainly Central
America's most overlooked country. The Panama Canal is two years from
completing a $5.2 billion expansion that will double its capacity and
make it one of the most sought after cruise ports just in time to
celebrate its 100th birthday. The name, Panama, means
'abundance of fish and butterflies', in an indigenous language, which
gives a good indication of the wild wonders to be found here, beyond its
rather daunting, but fascinating capital, Panama City.

Mozambique's
Northern Coast- Most of Africa aside from the major safari areas and
Cape Town are still considered undiscovered gems. In Africa it really
depends what you're looking for- if it's spiritual enlightenment head to
Mecca in Saudi Arabia, solo travel try the Red Sea in Egypt or Seychelles for an island escape. Mozambique is cosmopolitan beach town with old world charm.

Bentonville,
Arkansas- Sorry, but absolutely not. No one with any sort of
metropolitan instinct is going to vacay in Arkansas out of their own
free will, even if the Walmart heirs are paying a pretty penny to build
It up. Nashville
on the other hand, is gaining interest from the urban elites and not
just the country music lovers. As a major stop on most cross-country
tours, this musical city is sure to be rockin' all night long.

is one of the top ranked wine destinations in the world and for good
reason. Some travel to Paris for the food, fashion and romance, and yet
others run off to the countryside to Bordeaux for the abundance of
vineyards and sampling. The historical architecture and villages are
quite breath taking and you can even stay in a chateau to let the
ambiance of the Renaissance era come alive.

Tuscany, Italy

Italy,
another country known for its romantic appeal, is one of the oldest
countries in the world giving visitors endless places to visit. Deciding
where to go can be quite overwhelming, but for wine lovers, Tuscany
should be at the top of the list. Tuscany is the heart of Italy's wine
production which means wineries galore and also fabulous restaurants to
make sure your tummy is full from a day filled with delectable tastings.

Maipo Valley, Chile

If you are looking for something a little more extreme, take your excursion southbound to the Land of Fire and Ice. Chile
is offers a variety of climates with its snow-capped mountains, deserts
and flowing rivers. Find a wine tour in Maipo Valley, the oldest wine
producer in the region right off the Maipo River. Concha y Toro is one
of the largest wine producers in Latin America and well known world-wide
for their Merlot, Carbernet Sauvigon and Chardonnay.

Winelands, South Africa

South
Africa is a great destination to take a wine tour, and yes, they speak
English. Take in a variety of landscapes and cultures because South
Africa isn't just jungle safaris and pet tigers in the backyard. Not a
fan of big tourist attractions? Take tours through small farm towns such
as Wellington or Tulbagh located in Winelands or outside of Cape Town. Stellenbosch is a beautiful town to explore and the second oldest in South Africa.

Napa Valley, California

Besides Bordeaux, Napa Valley in California is one of the most known
wine regions in the world bringing in five million visitors a year. Book
a tour and taste the best wines of what locals call 'Wine Country'.
Looking for a unique wine excursion? Try out Napa's wine train. It's the chance to ride an antique train made of 20th
century railcars, eat delicious food, sip on wine and ride right
through the heart of Napa. Just east of San Francisco, you can hop on a
ferry to get to the wine train. The cruise makes for a beautiful trip to
the countryside adding to an already fantastic journey.

By Molly Nelson, Contributing Author

home of sour dough bread and the Golden Gate Bridge, is fondly known
for its hilly streets, hippie culture, wacky weather, and one of the
most crooked streets in the world. San Fran may be a bit chilly for the
sunshine state of California, but the moderate temperature makes it quite enjoyable for the rest of the nation to vacation.

Alcatraz

The famous island of Alcatraz
only housed inmates for 29 years, but its legacy lives on in infamy as
is consequently one of San Francisco's most popular tourist attractions.
History's most notorious criminals such as Al Capone and Robert Stroud
have graced its mysterious walls and the island also holds evidence of
the Civil War and American Indian Rights Movement. You may be surprised
to know that the island is also home to rare plant species, thousands
of birds and marine wildlife. Make sure you book a boat tour early
because it is known to sell out!

Fisherman's Wharf

San Francisco, also known as the 'City by the Bay', is known for Fisherman's Wharf
which is packed with beautiful sights and things to do. If you're a
morning person; head to Fish Alley where the seafood is transported
directly from the fishing boats to the vendors at the crack of dawn.
Also, make sure to catch a glimpse of the sea lions at Pier 39 and visit
the Aquatic Park and Maritime Museum. The wharf gives you spectacular
views of Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Ride a Cable Car

The
first cable car went down Clay Street August 2, 1873 at 5 am and for

It's hard to pass up the opportunity to take a ride on a moving piece of

a 40 degree slope with 8 switch backs, Lombard Street is famous for its
extreme crookedness. Watching the buzz of cars and bikes drive up and

you've come to the right place. We understand that sometimes you just
need to take a break from society and embrace naturism. We also
understand and are advocates for taking part in something you believe
in... even if you do want to do it naked! While there are spots all around
the world that are clothing optional resorts and welcome nakation-ers (naked-vacationers) year round, there's one thing to remember: pack light, because nude is the new black.

Cap d'Agde's "Village Naturiste"

Cap d'Agde's "Village Naturiste" is the perfect clothing optional resort for anyone looking for an "au natural" escape to the South of France. Cap d'Agde

confines of a guarded village. And the fun doesn't stop once the sun
goes down! There's plenty to do, whether you want to go shopping in one
of the four shopping centers, or dance the night away at one of the
clubs! But don't come to Cap d'Agde's "Village Naturiste" if you're
going to get shy, because once you're behind the gates of the village
total nudity is obligatory!

World Naked Bike Ride

If you're a passionate cyclist, against car culture or you're just looking to be a little bit more active on your Nakation, the World Naked Bike Ride

naked protests. In cities all around the world, mostly taken place in
the UK,
people face automobile traffic with their naked bodies as a way of
defending their dignity and exposing the negative consequences people
face everyday due to dependence on oil and other forms of non-renewable
energy. Fight for a cause you believe in on your next Nakation.

Sea Mountain Ranch Resort and Spa

This hidden treasure is located in the heart of Palm Springs, California and is one of the most popular clothing optional resorts in the United States.
Sea Mountain offers a more intimate experience and focuses more on

The
things you promise you'll change to make yourself a better person- lose
10 lbs., spend more time with the family, eat out less, etc. Instead of
forcing yourself to do things you don't want to do, why not make
optimistic travel resolutions to
better yourself? There's nothing more fun than immersing yourself in
other worldly cultures to broaden your horizons, which is only done by
seeing the world and exploring the great wonders of earth. Here's our
list, feel free to adopt these as your own. Happy holidays and happy
travels!

1. Face a fear- There is nothing more satisfying than staring fear in the eye and laughing. Afraid of heights? Go sky diving. Afraid of the ocean? Swim with the sharks.
Though it may be terrifying at first, go with a reputable program or
guide that can ensure your success. You will gain so much self
confidence knowing you conquered something you never dreamed possible,
which will go wonders beyond an extra hour or two at the gym.

2. Challenge yourself- Are you an avid hiker? Test your skills with one of the biggest challenges in the world- Manchu Picchu
or the Himalayas. Big on biking? Try cycling around Amsterdam. Match
your unique hobbies and interests to the location they are most popular
or coveted. Besides having a blast, you'll see that people around the
world really aren't so different after all by meeting people with
similar interests.

3. Make time for travel- One of the
hardest parts about travel is finding the time and money to do it.
Promise yourself you will take your full two weeks of vacation this
year. No matter how daunting the thought of work piling up is, if you
plan ahead the world will not end. Block out a non-busy time scheduling
around the dreaded end of month /end of quarter and get a jumpstart on
finishing reports early. After all, you owe it to yourself to
decompress. Travel is good for the health and the heart. In most of the world, they get on average a week off per quarter to relax.

4. Go with the flow-
Planning out your entire itinerary can be great for scheduling sake,
but taking it as it comes is equally as important to truly get the vibe
of your location. In the Caribbean?
Sure, you want to fit in water sports, parasailing and zip lining, but
don't stress out if you don't get to it all. They are on "Island time,"
the pace is a bit slower, more chill. Grab a frozen cocktail, hit the
spa and you'll be one of them in no time.

5. Don't judge-
One of the best parts about visiting a new place is learning about the
culture, but it's important to be respectful. If you see people eating
something you would never put in your mouth or wearing something you
think looks crazy, accept it. Don't giggle, talk behind their back or
whisper. Besides, maybe it's really you that's backwards.

6. Revisit an old fav-
there are spots that are meaningful to us all, whether it be somewhere
in your own town, a honeymoon spot, or somewhere you went as a child.
Reliving the special moments and places in our life is equally as
important as seeing something new. Nostalgia is an extremely powerful
emotion and the sights, smells and colors can take you back to some of
the best times in your life.

7. Share the experience- Traveling
solo is great, but making memories is what it's all about. Go with a
loved one, be it your family, significant other, or a group of friends
to capture those "had to be there moments." And of course, document your
trip with photos and videos to share with friends and family. You just
may motivate them to relive your experience or at least be extremely
jealous.

8. Cross something off your bucket list- We all
have a bucket list- those grand adventures that make life worth living.
An African safari in your top 3? What better time than the present?
Because really, what are you waiting for? Seize the moment.

9. Add something to your bucket list- The
more you travel, the more amazing, off the beaten path places you
discover. It's hard to even read about a place without discovering 10
more things you have to do or try. This isn't a bad thing, it just keeps
you motivated to explore and widens your eyes to all that's out there.

10. Don't stress- Planning a trip
can be extremely time consuming. Travelers conducting on average twenty
web searches before booking just to make sure they cross reference
every detail and scour over every review. Take time to relax even in the
planning stage. Vacations are meant to destress, not cause more anxiety
that you missed a sale. Create your game plan early so you can enjoy
the ride instead of worrying about last minute expenses.

Bon voyage!

change themes every three months so it's continually a new experience.
Currently, they are serving the Childhood menu, a nostalgic look that
includes Care bear lunch boxes and foie gras frosting that you lick off
the beaters.

See a show

There's always Broadway, but a more unique experience is Sleep No More in NYC. A cross between Eyes Wide Shut and MacBeth,
this interactive theater is one to remember. Don your mask and enter
the 1930's mansion to follow various characters throughout the house as
they engage with each other (in ways we can't divulge). Touch, taste and
engage with everything as everyone will have a different story and
memory.

Designer luggage

Why not splurge and
travel in style? Louis Vuitton is always a popular choice, but recently
Coach, Diane Von Furstenburg and Prada also came out with swanky luggage
collections. Available in various colors and styles, make sure your
arrival looks good.

Dare devil? Do you laugh
in the face of danger? What about free falling from rock formations at
precarious heights landing in questionable waters? Did I mention no
cords or tandem experts? Cliff diving
is a wild experience and has even been nicknamed 'tombstoning' so
proceed with caution. Read on to learn more about fabulous places around
the world to drop it like it's hot for professionals and amateurs.

France

La Rochelle,
a historical and picturesque French town literally meaning 'little
cliff', has been hosting the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series for the
past couple years. The world's best divers jump from the 138 foot high
jail, St. Nicolas since 1345. Villers-le-Lac, another French town, is
home to the highest cliff jump of 177 feet done by Oliver Favre-Bulle.
He took the famous leap adding a double back somersault which left him
severely injured. Favre luckily recovered and today organizes a diving
stunt show.

Mexico

Acapulco,
Mexico has made the extreme sport of cliff diving world famous.
Attention was brought to Acapulco in the 1950's when Raul Gomez leapt 87
feet into the ocean wearing a Timex watch to demonstrate its
durability. The location is for experienced divers only because of the
dangerous rocks and waters below. However, Acapulco is a beautiful place
to capture a view and watch the professionals make their deadly
plunges.

Hawaii

Hawaii
is known for its tropical atmosphere, gorgeous beaches and great
weather year round. The birthplace for cliff diving, records go as far
back as King Kahekili's jump of 63 feet in 1770 in Kaunolu. Not up to
that height? There are plenty of other spots across Hawaii, most on the
Big Island. Southpoint Cliffs (30 to 50 ft high) with the volcanic rock
and endless Pacific is a favorite for locals and if you're visiting,
simply watching the divers is quite a treat.

Switzerland

Switzerland
is known for magnificent places to jump. The country has hosted the
World High Diving Federation (WHDF) Championship several times. Popular
areas are located in Brontallo with cliffs up to 78 feet high. Despite
the activity being seasonal, professional divers will brave the cold
temperatures of Switzerland to test their will.

Australia

Being
home to beaches, sunshine and ocean all over the country, Australia is a
great destination for those trying to escape the cold. Australia has
many locations to jump off cliffs for the adventurous spirit.
Interestingly enough, most of these areas are not located on the coast
but further inland on rivers and lakes. Kimberly, in Western Australia
for example, is full of waterfalls, gorges and cliffs inland to take a
glorious leap of faith.

terms of quenching your thirst for adventure. There is another option
that's becoming more and more popular with the 20 something set- to
leave America completely and become an expatriate.
An expat is one who adopts residence in a new country. Sounds crazy
right? It is certainly not for everyone, but think of the people you
will meet, new territories you may discover and living a more meaningful
life. They say knowledge is power and there is no better way to attain
it then immersing yourself in different cultures and surroundings. An
expat lifestyle creates a whole new definition of coming back different.

Be Prepared

Whether you want to teach English
abroad, start a virtual business or your company is deciding to send
you overseas, you will need to prepare both mentally and physically.
However, do not get bogged down by the details. Half of the adventure is
learning and adapting on the fly. Most importantly, understand some
background information about the country such as cultural norms. Also,
keep an open mind and a sense of humor. There will be many times when
things become confusing or frustrating but when you figure it out on
your own, it is that much more rewarding!

Save Money and Eliminate Debt

Most
people are afraid of long-term travel for financial reasons. However,
in some ways it can save you money and with the proper research, your
travel experience does not have to break the bank. Thanks to the World
Wide Web, there are several resources and tools to help you save money
on the road. Couchsurfing.org
was created for travelers looking to crash for free. Basically, the
site is a social networking tool for travelers and people willing to
host them. Couch surfing goes beyond a place to stay however. It gives
you a chance to learn from locals and visit the 'off the beaten path'
places you never would have discovered on your own. I recommend visiting
ManVsDebt.com where Adam Baker
describes his travels with his wife and 3-year-old child. He blogs
about eliminating $18,000 of debt, selling everything unnecessary,
traveling the world and passionately pursuing entrepreneurship. Not to
mention he does it all while raising a family. Getting rid of debt
before you hit the road decreases your chances of accumulating more debt
once you move.

Make Money

While saving money is
important before you take off, what if you could make money once you
were there? Your dream of traveling the world can be fulfilled. One
option is to acquire a TEFL certificate which would allow you to teach English in any country. GoAbroad.com
provides information on TEFL certification programs as well as job
opportunities in your field. If you are interested, there are volunteer
and student options, as well. If you are a budding entrepreneur or
aspiring to make your business remote, check out Chris Guillebeau's 279
Days to Overnight Success which explains how to create your own success
with your own project. Chris has plenty of fantastic advice on traveling
cheaply by building frequent flyer miles without ever getting on a plane.

Packing Light

When
traveling, less is always more. Most people make the mistake of taking
way too many things and end up lugging massive bags through airport
after airport. It is possible to take one bag when planning for
long-term travel. Karol Gajda, an entrepreneur who helps people from all
over the world achieve 'ridiculously extraordinary' freedom, gives a
break down on how to travel with his Ultimate Light Packing List. This can be especially helpful for solo female travelers.

Stay Connected

Wherever
you go and whatever you do, document it all with pictures and videos to
share with family and friends. The benefit of living in the age of
social networking is that even when you're across the globe you still
can stay connected.

by Molly Nelson, Contributing Author
